What was the brief
A Cardiff-based wood recycling company approached Smart Solutions due to issues finding the right workforce. The company initially wanted to increase their workforce within a short amount of time but after analysis of what was required, we found the locations in which they were recruiting lacked the skillset, making it difficult to recruit, and there was a skills shortage within the UK.
The ‘Smart’ Solution
To help the Cardiff-based company, we immediately implemented our tried and tested Managed Service Model, which allowed us to immerse ourselves into our client’s business. We mobilised a new site in South Wales and worked closely with our client to ensure we fully understood the needs of the business so we could offer complete staffing solution.
In addition to this, we also utilised our SmartDirect model, which allowed the wood-recycling company access to a larger pool of candidates from across Europe. By working with our SmartDirect divisions, our client had access to more skillsets that were not readily available in the UK. Our team worked closely with EU lawyers to ensure compliant and ethnical process from start to finish and worked with the workers so there was a smooth transition to working with the UK.
Where are they now?
Our Cardiff-based client’s needs were fulfilled. With the mobilisation of the two new sites we were able to achieve 100% fulfilment across all roles with the employment of our EU model.
We fulfilled all their needs in their remote location (South West) via our EU model and through our local hub network we mobilised their new site in South Wales with local account management. Mobilised all the staff they required through the EU model in the time frame that they wanted.
